What we need:
Exp: Minimum 5-7 Years of experience in Vehicle Control Unit design and its Peripheral
Qualification: BTech / BE – EEE/ECE/E&I/EV technology/
Industry Preference: Tier 1 and OEM with VCU Exposure

Technical Skills Required:
• 7 or more years of demonstrated successful experience in Electrical Vehicles with in-depth understanding of Vehicle Control Unit Design and its peripheral.
• Professional experience with the design, analysis, and testing of VCUs that involve wide range of components such Buck/Boost Converters, LDOs, MOSFETs, BJT, Transformers, Diodes, Connectors, Microcontrollers, ORing ICs, Sensors, Audio Amplifiers, etc
• Schematic Designs for Complex PCBs involving Analog/Digital/Mixed Signal Circuits
• Good understanding of Layout Designs up-to 8 layers & Design Strategies
• Board bring-up & Detailed Verification Plan
• End-to-end product testing for electric vehicle
• Some experience with Wireless Systems in EV
• Professional experience in Altium or with any other EDA tool
• Vehicle Integration, Debugging, Troubleshooting & Mitigation Strategies
• Safety design of Vehicle Control Unit

What you’ll do:
• Performing selections of components, Symbol creation, Footprint creation and developing Schematics and PCB design files for different parts of the system, such as: linear or switching power supplies, digital low and high current outputs, analog and digital inputs, communication interfaces, microcontroller and processor and control logic, onboard diagnostics, logging memory, etc.
• Electronics Architecture(High/Low level) & Schematic for Analog/Digital/Mixed Circuits
• Work closely with the Layout Designers for Implemented Layout and design reviews
• Work with the key components, including Buck/Boost Converters, LDOs, MOSFETs, BJT, Transformers, Diodes, Connectors, Microcontrollers, ORing ICs, Sensors, Audio Amplifiers, etc
• Design, Implementation & Testing of range of communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, I2C, UART, SPI, I2S, etc
• End to end product testing, including board bring-up & detailed validation plan for Vehicle subsystems.
• Electronics product cycle from the inception to production.
• Create designs which are in compliance with automotive industry standards for EMI/EMC, Endurance & DVP
• Perform circuit simulation utilizing software like Hyperlynx, Ansys and LTSPICE etc.
• Work closely with the Software as well as Mechanical Team to resolve board & vehicle level challenges and participate in brainstorming sessions .
• Work independently with electrical test equipment such as Oscilloscope, Electronic Load, Signal Generator, DMMs, Data Loggers, Logic Analyser, etc
• Wireless application for IoT/ automotive domain, including LTE, GNSS, BT/WiFi is plus
• Participation in FUSA discussions.
• Support production and assembly during the production of prototypes,Work with other groups like Charger, Battery Management Systems and understand the final application.
• Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends
• Design Calculations & Good documentation building skills

  • Technical Skills Required:
    4-5 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems
  • Knowledge on automotive microcontrollers (preferably on NXP / STMicroelectronics / Infineon)
  • Knowledge on Body Control Module (BCM) architecture and design
  • Development experience using C / C++ / Python
    Driver development on CAN / LIN / SPI / I2C / UART / PWM / GPIO peripherals
  • Skilled in debugging bench level and vehicle level issues
  • Knowledge on RTOS and AUTOSAR architecture
  • Knowledge on SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Experience in Unit Testing and Integration Testing is preferable
  • Hands on CANoe / CANalyzer / Vehicle CAN/LIN Data capture and analyzing
  • What you’ll do:
    • This role is for Platform Software development as a part of Electrical/Electronic Technical team.
    • Design and Development of embedded SW modules on BCM ECU: Creating and coding specialized software components that run directly on the vehicle’s body control unit to manage central locking, lighting systems, wipers, power windows, and immobilization features.
    • Vehicle SW integration and Testing: Combining various software modules from different teams into a complete vehicle system and rigorously testing its functionality, performance, and compatibility across all integrated components.
    • On Board Diagnostics – Development / Testing: Building and validating software features that monitor BCM systems for faults, record diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) via UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services), and facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Technical Documentation: Creating clear, concise, and comprehensive written materials (e.g., design specifications, API guides, test reports) to record software architecture, functionality, and usage for development, maintenance, and compliance purposes.
    • SW Development and Testing for Gateway/Body Networks: Creating software specialized in managing vehicle network signals, power management states (sleep/wake-up modes), and routing communication between the BCM and other vehicle ECUs.

About the Role

Position Summary:
The Mechanical Design and Quality Control Lead will drive mechanical design, production coordination, and quality control activities for automotive electronics products. This role will lead design execution, support production readiness, improve manufacturability, and ensure products meet specification, cost, timeline, and quality expectations.

Qualification: BE in Mechanical Engineering or in similar domains.

Industry Preference: Automotive electronics / electromechanical product development
Work Location: Bangalore and Madurai
Location Preference: Candidates from Madurai or surrounding areas are preferred. Work location will be Bangalore or Madurai based on business requirement.

Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design activities for new and existing product development programs, including concept design, 3D modeling, detailing, and release of manufacturing drawings.

Develop and review CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
Perform design analysis and support validation of mechanical components and assemblies before release.
Work closely with electronics, production, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams to integrate mechanical designs into automotive electronic products.
Support design reviews, tolerance stack-up reviews, manufacturability improvement, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Provide technical support for injection-molded plastic parts, tooling development, design changes, and vendor coordination for tooling feasibility.

Coordinate with production teams to ensure design transfer to manufacturing is smooth, practical, and aligned with output, quality, and delivery requirements.
Monitor production-related issues, support process improvements, and help resolve manufacturability and assembly concerns on the shop floor.
Establish and monitor incoming, in-process, and final quality control practices to ensure product conformity and process discipline.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for product and process quality issues.
Maintain design, validation, inspection, and quality documentation, and support reporting for internal and external reviews.

Mentor junior engineers/designers and coordinate with suppliers, production, and QA teams for issue resolution.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience in CAD design and mechanical product development.
Proficiency in SolidWorks for part modeling, assembly design, and drawing release.
Experience in design analysis, including structural, fitment, and functional validation; FEA exposure is preferred.
Good knowledge of injection tooling, molded part design, DFM, and tooling feasibility.

Experience working on automotive electronics products or electromechanical assemblies.
Good understanding of production processes, manufacturing coordination, shop-floor issue handling, and production planning support.
Strong knowledge of quality control processes, inspection methods, non-conformance handling, CAPA, and continuous improvement practices.

Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance management, and design review practices.
Strong problem-solving, coordination, and team handling skills.

Preferred Profile
Experience in automotive product lifecycle development from concept to production.
Exposure to supplier development, tooling follow-up, part approval, and production quality monitoring.
Ability to balance design intent, manufacturability, cost, production output, and quality requirements.
Candidates currently based in Madurai or nearby locations will be preferred for ease of coordination and local hiring suitability.
Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
